    Vitamin C (Liposomal)New

    Supplement
    Vitamins
    5/10 Evidence

A liposomally encapsulated form of ascorbic acid designed to achieve higher plasma and leukocyte concentrations than standard vitamin C, especially at gram-level doses where conventional absorption saturates.

    Mechanism of Action

Vitamin C is a water-soluble antioxidant and essential cofactor for collagen synthesis, carnitine production, and neurotransmitter synthesis, and it regenerates oxidized vitamin E. Standard oral absorption is transporter-limited and falls below 50% at doses above roughly 1g; liposomal encapsulation allows a portion of the dose to be absorbed via passive and lymphatic uptake alongside active transport, raising plasma and leukocyte levels beyond what non-liposomal vitamin C achieves at the same dose.

    Dosing Protocol

    Recommended

    500mg-1g dailymg

Standard starting dose based on research

    Therapeutic Range

    500

    Minimum

Dosages are general guidelines. Individual requirements vary based on body weight, health status, and specific goals. Start with lower doses and adjust based on response.

    Benefits

    Primary Benefits

    • Immune support
    • Collagen synthesis (skin, joints, vasculature)
    • Antioxidant defense
    • Higher absorption at gram-level doses vs. standard ascorbic acid

    Secondary Benefits

    Iron absorption enhancement
    Reduced cold duration/severity
    Endothelial function support

    Safety Information

    Contraindications

Do not use if any of the following apply:

    • History of oxalate kidney stones (high doses)
    • G6PD deficiency (established risk with high-dose IV vitamin C; oral liposomal risk is much lower but caution advised)
    • Hemochromatosis/iron overload disorders

    Drug/Supplement Interactions

May interact with the following. Consult a healthcare provider before combining:

May reduce efficacy of some chemotherapy/radiation regimens that rely on oxidative mechanisms
Increases non-heme iron absorption — caution in hemochromatosis or iron-overload conditions
High doses may interfere with some blood glucose meter readings and occult-blood tests

    Potential Side Effects

    Some users may experience:

GI upset/loose stool at high doses (less common than standard vitamin C due to lower unabsorbed fraction)
    Rare heartburn

This is not a complete list of interactions or side effects. Individual responses vary. Always start with the lowest effective dose and monitor your response. Report any adverse effects to your healthcare provider.

    Quality Markers

Look for these specific quality indicators when sourcing this compound:

    • Liposomal encapsulation with documented particle size
    • Non-GMO sunflower lecithin
    • Third-party verified vitamin C content

    Trusted Certifications

    NSF Certified
    USP Verified
    GMP Certified
    ConsumerLab Approved

Note: Supplement quality varies dramatically between brands. Cheap supplements often contain fillers, incorrect doses, or contaminants. Investing in quality products from reputable manufacturers is essential for safety and efficacy.

    5/10

    Moderate Evidence

Some clinical trials with positive results, emerging research

    Classification:
Moderate — a growing set of randomized crossover pharmacokinetic trials (2019–2025) consistently show 20-700% higher plasma AUC for liposomal vs. standard vitamin C depending on formulation and dose; whether this translates into meaningfully better clinical outcomes than cheaper standard vitamin C at split doses has not been directly tested.
