A Mission Born from Radical Connection
How a psychedelic experience became a community, and a community became a question: what if we could help everyone see and strengthen the invisible networks that shape their lives?
I want to tell you a story about the moment everything changed for me. Not because my story is extraordinary — but because the truth it revealed is universal, and it's the reason Peak Human Networks exists.
The experience
A few years ago, I had a psychedelic experience that cracked something open. I don't say this lightly, and I know it's not everyone's path. But for me, in that space, the walls I'd built between myself and other people became visible — and then they dissolved.
What was left was the simplest, most overwhelming realization: connection is everything. Not connection as networking, not connection as LinkedIn requests, not connection as a strategy. Connection as the fundamental act of seeing another person and being seen. Love — not romantic love, but the active decision to care, to show up, to share — is the deepest source of fulfillment available to us.
The walls I'd built between myself and other people became visible — and then they dissolved. What was left was the simplest truth: connection is everything.
When I came back from that experience, I had a mission that felt as clear as anything I'd ever known: connect with others and share love. Not as a philosophy to think about — as a practice to live by, every day, with every person I encounter.
From mission to community
That mission became action. I started reaching out to people I'd lost touch with. I introduced friends from different parts of my life to each other. I said yes to things I would have said no to before. I asked deeper questions. I listened more.
And something remarkable happened. The more I connected, the more connections appeared. People started introducing me to their friends. Conversations led to collaborations. A loose web of relationships started to take shape — people who shared a belief that human connection matters, that community is worth building intentionally, that we can help each other grow.
This became Peak Human — first as a loose community, then as a membership, then as something that felt like it wanted to become much more.
The question that became an application
As the community grew, I started noticing patterns. I could see how one introduction would cascade into three more. I could see how certain people — super connectors — were holding the whole web together. I could see how the energy and attitude of the community seemed to spread from person to person, almost like an emotion was traveling through invisible wires.
And then I discovered the science. Christakis and Fowler's work on network contagion. Granovetter's insight about weak ties. Watts and Strogatz's small-world shortcuts. Barabási's hubs. Everything I was experiencing in real life had been mapped and measured by researchers for decades.
That's when the question crystalized: what if we could make these invisible forces visible? What if every person could see their own network — not as an abstract concept, but as a living map? What if they could see how their happiness, habits, and opportunities are shaped by the people around them? What if that visibility could help them build better, more intentional, more fulfilling lives?
A mission to connect and share love
A psychedelic experience reveals the fundamental importance of human connection and sets a new life direction.
Peak Human takes shape
Intentional outreach grows into a community of people committed to building genuine connections and helping each other thrive.
Network science confirms the intuition
Decades of research — contagion, weak ties, small worlds, hubs — provide the scientific foundation for what the community was already living.
Peak Human Networks is born
A tool to make the invisible visible — helping people map, measure, and strengthen the networks that shape their lives.
What we're building
Peak Human Networks is the tool I wished existed when I first started this journey. It's built on three pillars:
See
Visualize your network. Understand the science. See the invisible forces shaping your happiness and trajectory.
Measure
Assess your network health. Identify gaps, bridges, hubs. Know where to invest your social energy.
Grow
Get recommendations. Strengthen weak ties. Build bridges. Cultivate a network that makes everyone in it better.
But more than a tool, this is an invitation. It's an invitation to take your relationships seriously — not in a transactional way, but in the deepest way. To recognize that who you surround yourself with is one of the most important decisions you make, and that you have more agency over that decision than you think.
Building connections with others is one of the most fulfilling things a person can do. But we need to be thoughtful about who we allow into our inner network, because that choice has an outsized impact on our lives — for better or worse.
The science backs this up. The community lives it. And now we're building the tools to help everyone see it, measure it, and act on it.
